Your Style May Reflect Your Positivity
Did you just say style may reflect positivity? Yes, yes, I did. Don’t believe me? Have you ever put on an outfit and instantly felt good? Had a wonderful hair day and just wanted to make sure you went out somewhere because you didn’t want to waste it? If you answered yes then you’ll surely agree that your style may mirror the positivity inside. That feeling you felt, was self-love, and self-love is one the best ways to live a positive life.
You are the artist of your canvas, and what you put on your canvas directly represents you, the artist. That does not just mean in terms of style, but your mind, body, and soul. You are the artist of it all. What you want the world to see is what you display. May that mean: positive, fun, happy, serious, playful and/or respectful.
Do You, Boo
We’re not saying you need to go out into the world and get an overhaul on your look, not at all. However, if that’s what you choose to do to help make for a happier you, go right ahead. What we are saying is to do you, boo! Your style doesn’t have to come from a magazine, a blog, or a store mannequin. However, these things may lend to your personal style. The thing about style is, it doesn’t have to be one size fits all, everyone has their own personal style.
Don’t you love when you see someone just going for it, wearing what matches them and it works, because it fits them? I do, it’s enviable to see someone so sure of themselves to be comfortable in their own skin and style that it works. You know what’s usually on those people that makes you know they’re happy? A smile and an aura of confidence.
What Makes You Happy
What makes you happy? Is there a fabric, bright colors, light colors, dark colors, t-shirts, pants, skirts, or dresses? Think of colors that bring you joy or calm and try to implement them into your life. Maybe even create a mood board, you can find great inspiration atย Pattern Curatorย and or course Pinterest.
If you’re inspired by nature, art, fandom, or the universe these things can be represented in your style. And yes, dark clothes can still represent your happiness and positivity, because that’s what pleases YOU.
There’s Comfort in Style
There is no need to kill yourself over style, to fit some unattainable carbon copy that is splattered across EVERYTHING. If it don’t fit you must acquit. Style doesn’t just come in 12-inch heels, 2 pairs of Spanx under cocktail dresses, it can also come with leggings, flowy dresses, and flats but most of all it comes from you (and whatever makes you HAPPY). Just be yourself and do it with the care and respect YOU deserve. ๐

The older I get the more comfortable my style has become. As a mom I need to be able to keep up with my kids while looking nice ๐
I’m the same way, I do love to get gussied up too though. Funny story, I tried to wear my highest heels while teaching art the other day ago, I ended up curled up on the couch when I got home. I won’t be doing that again. ๐
